Extra energy. If you're doing a 55 build you should be hit for -5 at most, so armor doesn't matter, and +health is a detriment. Energy, however, can be tight at times. This is just a minor tip though. I'm sure you can make it work with a little less room for error using whatever armor you please.

IMO... get the cheapest scars you can get your hands on. The armor rating doesn't matter because of PS only allowing 5 dmg due to your lowered HP. And you need the scars (prophecies) for the energy. You can get +energy armor (if you don't like the scars) in factions.
Go cheap... it doesn't really matter what the dmg resistance on the armor is, your 55 hp and PS will determine the damage you take anyways. |

You can use anything you want, really. Before factions came out I was using Ascalon armor because it's cheap and you don't need to worry about AL with a 55er. These days though, I'd use the +energy armor (Cabalist's, I think) from Shing Jea. While not necessary, the extra few points of energy might bail you out of some close calls.

Use guildwiki to see what it looks like, where to get it and what the cost is. Last I checked wiki was down though, so you might have to wait a bit for it.

If you have Factions then you should be able to find the energy enhancement armor in all the armor skins available.
FYI, if you're going to do other builds, consider getting the 1.5k versions of the head armor. For example, I have 3 head armors: one +1 to curses, one +1 to death and one +1 to blood, each with a superior rune of the same attribute for when I play a curse/MM/blood necro. I just use the curse head piece for my 55 build and save an extra slot for a fourth head armor for the 55 build. Since I also made a build w/a sup. soul reaping rune in the foot armor, I use that for my 55 build too, and just had to buy the cheap armor for the chest, arm and legs. This meant I only needed 3 more superior runes instead of 5. Hope that made sense. |
